The site has new owners who have upgraded it, but it still looks like a car park, nowhere nice to sit out, not that you would often want to in the usual weather. Facilities which we didn't use still in a portacabin.
It's easy enough to find; from the B876, take the road sp Gillock, turn right in about 1/4 mile, then it's signed. We didn't like the area very much, flat and uninteresting compared to much of the rest of Scotland.
The coastal scenery is better, go to Dunnet Head, the most northerly point of mainland Scotland, for the cliffs and seabirds. There is a lovely beach at Brough, with seals on the rocks. Go on a day trip to Orkney, book online the night before, no need to print confirmation.
There is a convenience store and fuel at castletown, about 4 miles away. More shops at Wick and Thurso, which are both uninspiring.
We are glad we went, a long held ambition, but we won't be going again. £20 per night which can be paid via Trip Advisor.

We booked for an overnight stop, telephoned the owner who could not have been more helpful and friendly.
The site is well off the beaten track, about a mile down a lane and then up to the farm. CL is a tarmac area facing down over the fields. It does resemble a carpark but its clean and tidy, ehu on each pitch and a fresh water tap on the central pitch.
There is a toilet and a shower both situated in an old portacabin. We didn't use shower, another caravaner told us plenty of hot water. Toilet was a bit grubby, no soap, no loo rool and no paper towels.
Its only about 10-12 miles to Dunnet Head, about 35-40 minutes to Wick. So it is well placed as a base to tour from.
We paid £15 for the night for 2 adults with ehu.
