 These camping pods are simply stunning, set on the shores of Lagavulin Bay overlooking the ruins of Dunyvaig castle. Islay is a whisky island but there is also plenty of wildlife, walking & history to explore. There is an off-road cycle/walking path linking the pods to the nearest village - Port Ellen, about 3 miles away. There you find a Co-op, Spar, Post Office and several cafes & bars.
We booked Solum, the smallest pod. Yes, it is cosy but clean, comfortable and well equipped. If you are used to tent camping or motorhoming you won't have a problem! NB compared to many other "pods" I would consider this "glamping" but there is no TV, no wifi & no hottub. However, there is a picnic table, sheltered decking and a large BBQ provided.
Overall, hard to fault. We would certainly stay here again.
