The site is used for both camping (tents and caravans) and as a boat yard.
We stayed during the week and during term-time so very few people around. What people were there seemed to be concentrating on boat maintenance.
The site is grassed and level with no set pitches. There are ten electric hook-up points that need a two pin to three pin adapter. Not sure on the current limit but we managed to run the water heater and kettle at the same time.
I could only find two water points with two taps each. The site manager didn't like us connecting our whale adapter and leaving the tap on.
Three different languages are available on site; Hungarian, German and English. Not all three by everyone but I didn't have any problems being both an English and German speaker.
There is a black water point in the toilet block. The site manager let us drain any grey water down the side of a grassed bank.
The toilet block appears to be very clean. The loos definitely. The showers on the other hand need a deep clean. I found one cubicle without a shower head and others had plug holes blocked with hair. Crocs or flip-flops are essential.
The site is right on the banks of the Danube so insects are going to be a problem in the summer. Careful use of insect repellent and insecticides should mitigate this but be careful.
There is a restaurant on site but we didn't get the chance to use it - our fault, not the management's.
There is a ferry across the Danube to Visegrad and on to Szentendre and ultimately Budapest. There is also a railway station in Kismaros with regular, quick links to Budapest.
Would I use it again? Yes.
