 Aire Naturelle, Le Bois de Sibourg is based on a family-run arable farm and is perfect for those who seek the peace and beauty of the French countryside: camping beneath the oak trees (which provide essential shade from the Provencal sun) with views over the wooded Luberon hills made famous by Peter Mayle. No traffic noise; no flight-paths; no “animations”- just the sound of nature.
The 25 pitches (no statics) are scattered in the large wood and are very large and widely spaced by normal standards. (For this reason, an extension is recommended if you need an electric hook-up).
The toilet block is basic but clean – with 3 (free) hot showers and hot water for washing-up, etc. Chemical loo disposal point. Free Wifi at the farmhouse/reception. Access road narrow but no problem for caravans/motorhomes.
The local town, Céreste is quiet, but has a very good supermarket, bank, Post Office, Tourist office as well as Cafés, Restaurant, Pizzeria, Ice cream and swimming pool (July/August). Cycle path is away from the main road.
Within ½ hour from Céreste are the interesting towns of Apt, Forcalquier and Manosque, each with lively markets. Within 1 hour are many interesting villages and sights – especially the lavender fields in July.
We are on our 3rd time here and would thoroughly recommend it. Maybe too quiet for some but perfect for those who enjoy peace and quiet.
