This is a beautiful campsite, situated near a lake in the Valley of St Jean, near the town of Mauriac. There are plenty of shaded, marked pitches and clean toilet blocks.

We were welcomed warmly and given a chart to show which pitches were vacant for the night so that we could choose our own. There are also cabins and group pitches.

The swimming pools are enormous and filled with families enjoying respite from the heatwave. Groups of young people with their youth leaders added to the entertainment with their impromptu aerobic routines.

There is a snackbar on site but also a restaurant, 'Le Grilloir' a short walk away down by the lake where I ate the most delicious trout.

Another plus for this site is that there is a free 'navette' (shuttlebus) which runs into Mauriac and back.
