 Great municipal campsite. Modern shower/toilets/washing block cleaned and maintained daily. No toilet paper nor hand soap. Daily bread order available. Activity area for children/adults with badminton, boules, hook-a-duck, hoopla, etc (bats, balls, etc all available to use).
You would need to be aware of the easy access to the river with small children. Also BBQs ready for used - supply your own charcoal unless someone has left for future users.
Walk straight onto riverside towpath / Voie Verte. Spacious pitches some with tree shade. NO traffic so very quiet (owls all night) - BUT read on.
This is next to a town stadium - which wasn't used during our 9 day stay but it was the end of August. There was an on site grocery shop which was closed but I expect it was open earlier in the season for campers / cyclists / river traffic.
Whilst we were there a large marquee at the bottom of the site was used by a small group for a couple of nights, then a large group of teenage girls were there for several nights - fine except for their last night when they party'd until 11:15pm - not very welcome.
Town of Fumay is pretty non-descript but the area is absolutely stunning and provided excellent fishing for hubby. Hired bicycles for the day in Haybes just up the road.
Frequent overnighters who were cycling long distances on the Voie Verte.
We paid about 18 euros a night with electricity - 7th night free.
