Stayed overnight on a somewhat cold, late January Saturday. Arrived early enough that it was stay daylight, making it very easy to back in to the allotted parking bay. Our campervan, Wilbur is 7m long and we had plenty of space around us.
Standard 16amp socket on the wall for EHU. We knew we would be eating inside so no need for water or waste connections. Wilbur has a loo inside so no worries about personal hygiene needs either. There's a large blue skip-bin on site for rubbish. I saw a fresh water hose on the end of the lodges adjoining the car park.
Great welcome from the hosts. Paid £20 for overnight stay and EHU but £10 was knocked off the food and drinks bill. Several pints and two exceptionally well cooked steaks and accommodation was under £100 for the two of us.
The Woodman is dog friendly. No complaints from the staff when our two fur balls decided to go exploring. The only restriction for pet owners is that food is served in the bar than the restaurant. The Woodman's own dog, George was brilliantly behaved and welcomed our two girls very gently. The needs of the dogs are met with water bowls inside and out, and a patch of grass for zoomies and toilet needs.
There is a set of floodlights that cover the car park so camper visitors might want to put up blackout blinds in the front windows.
Overall a really pleasant stay. We will be back.

Well the previous review pretty well summed up this stopover.
Really convenient stop if you are travelling north or south on the A1. Just off the A1 near Bedale. Very easy access.
If you eat in the pub your overnight stay charge is deducted from the bill. If you want electric it is £5.
Really friendly warm welcome and we were directed to the best spot to park. The food in the pub is excellent as is the local beer.
Would highly recommend and we will definitely be using it again.

First time stopping in a pub car park.
The woodman is a family run pub and you could not have asked for a more friendly and pleasant family.
The pitch was ready and available, the staff are polite and friendly.
The food is amazing it was a lovely stop over and we will be returning.
