Glad to be able to thank Vera the Site Manager for a lovely quiet site and commitment to making campers comfortable. No problem about my camper, VW Caddy LWB 2L 4Motion not having mechanical ventilation or windows.
Facilities, WC, Shower etc all working and comfortable. Vera showed me to her private paddock grass but stable & dry, satisfactory for independent wheelchair users with upper body strength or electric power although I don't think the Facilities were "Level access".
I stupidly ran down my vehicle battery & Vera arranged a jump start very quickly without a second thought.
Allonby, the nearest village is a lovely little jumble of houses with a small river running through it then along the beach.
Must be said this coast has beaches but the sand is brown, unattractive and a little muddy for family fun, sandcastles etc. , inland, the countryside is agricultural & quite flat, with streams draining the fields.
Allonby has a cafe and a couple of pubs, The Ship was closed for renovation but I enjoyed a meal at Jacks Surf Bar which was better than expected.
One downside is that only Jack's was open in the evening, the ice cream parlour shut at 16:00 and the cafe about 17:30.

Absolutely fabulous C L. The family are lovely people, very accommodating and the facilities are kept immaculate.
The information says no ground sheets but fully breathable ones can be used no problem.
It was so peaceful and relaxing with magnificent views and outstanding sun sets.
A short walk to seemingly miles of sand almost to ourselves and the sea was warm enough for a swim.
Our dog also loved the walk down the quiet lane.
The new shepherds hut and two pods look very tempting. Ideal of you wanted friends or family to visit perhaps.
Mawbray Cheese Shed, Twentymans Ice Cream and The Codfather well worth visiting.
We highly recommend this C L and we will definitely return. Thank you to Joe, Vera and Philip.

Just finished a 5 night stay at this site. Very warm welcome from Vera and Joe. Fabulous site only a few minutes from the beach which our Collie loved.
Pitches well laid out with plenty of room between them and two lines of paving slabs for van wheels which is a nice touch. Shower and toilet were always clean. Huge beach when the tide is out and very nice to swim when the tide is in.
Good walk along the beach into Allonby for morning coffee. Nice quiet country lanes for walking or cycling as well. Bus stops at road end if you want to go into Maryport or Silloth.
Vera and Joe are always about and always find the time to have a chat. Vera very knowledgable about local area and always seems to be laughing.
We will definitely return later in the year.

Great little find - couple of minutes from the beach with lovely views. Pitches on hardstanding next to grass all with ehu.
One loo and shower combined, always very clean. Central fresh water tap and a chem disposal.
Vera was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, we were made to feel very welcome on arrival.
Allonby is 1 mile down the beach, couple of chippies, a pub and a cafe. Wonderful cycle / walking path from Allonby to Maryport.
Loads to see and do in Maryport at the Marina or try Siloth for a walk along the promenade and around the cobble streets.
This is a lovely peaceful and well kept site. At £17 a night we couldn't have asked for more.

Another fabulous stay at Old Kiln Farm.
We always receive a wonderful warm welcome from Vera who goes the extra mile to make sure everything is good for her guests.
Good also to see that the site continues to work on improving the experience for guests - this time we saw the addition of a hardcore driveway leading to each pitch.
Thanks for another relaxing and peaceful weekend.

Superb location. Basic campsite with portaloo and running water only. Very peaceful.
Village of Allonby 10 mins away for local amenities.
Booking in easy and site very quiet - despite BH weekend.
