Kevin and Michelle are amazing hosts and very welcoming.
I was not confident one bit when I arrived because I never camped before but Kevin put us an easy and was very re-assign and helpful. We had great time camping.
The campsite is highly recommended.

The owner of this site was friendly and helpful. We had a pitch halfway down to the stream in the meadow area which was large and flat.
There were some interesting looking pitches down in the trees by the stream but we opted to be out in the open. We are in our 50s, active and love basic camping, however this was a bit too basic for my liking.
There were no showers, and one toilet, a composting toilet built from rough logs, with no light and a tiny handwashing basin. There was a hole for men to pee in as well, down a pipe, all clearly stated in their blurb.
It's advertised as 'nearly wild camping' and I wouldn't have minded the basic facilities but for the proximity of the A382, which it turns out is quite a fast busy road and was very close to our tent, about 20 metres give or take. Anyway the rushing traffic woke me early and got in the way of hearing a peaceful nothing but owls hooting as I drifted off to sleep.
We left early to find a quieter site. A perfect place for cyclists, tourers to camp and experience a basic wild thing as long as traffic sounds aren't an issue. It would have been quieter lower down I expect.
Oh, and it's a tight blind bend onto the road so be careful. This site cost the same as the next one we went to which had a lot more going for it, hot showers, lots of dog walking space and far from the road.

We really enjoyed our stay at Wray Valley Camping. Kevin and Michelle were lovely hosts and gave us tips and directions for walks in the area.
The campsite was great for getting a feel of wild camping, while still having access to composting toilet facilities (always very clean) and water.
The campsite backs onto an easy cycling and walking trail, although you will need to drive and park to get up onto the Moors.
We had a great stay, thank you!

This campsite is quite different from larger campsites. Basic in amenities, compost loo and cold water tap, it is like 'wild camping'. Individual tent areas are spaced out nicely with patches of wild grasses growing between them, and mowed grass paths linking the camping area to compost loo and parking area at the top of the field.
We had the use of a fire pit and free wood and kindling, and an area for a larger communal fire if we chose.
It is peaceful and quiet.
A stream at the bottom of the field, where we bathed, linked the site via a small bridge to the Wray Valley cycle way, approx half way between Lustleigh to Moretonhampstead (1hr walk). Co-op open every day in Moreton.
The owners are friendly and helpful.
Our trip was sadly cut short due to extreme weather but we would definitely choose to stay here again.
