Lovely small site with alpacas next to waterfall.
Owners are amazing and they were great with my 5 year old who said when he got home, "it was brilliant".

Great location and great hosts.
Lovely flat grassy site near the river with footpaths from the site - so we didn't need to drive.
Perfect for our camping week in the sunshine.
Thankyou

Great little site in Weardale.
Fabulous location, with stunning views south, ideal for exploring the local area by foot or bike.
Despite being close to the road, it's very peaceful at night.
It was really nice to hear owls, curlews and oyster catchers.
The toilet and shower room is very clean and the shower is excellent!
The owners are very friendly and welcoming too. St John's is only a 10-15 mins walk away with a Co-op, cafes and 2 pubs.
The alpacas in the next field are very entertaining!

Joseph and Sophie are great hosts.
A well mown 3 acre field set well away from the road with the river Wear, only 2 miles from its start, running on the fields Northern edge; trout and at the right time Salmon swim in it at this point. A road leads into the field giving easy access to Motor Homes and Caravans.
EHU points are next to the riverside fence with a generous pitch size for each unit.
On the roadside edge of the field is a very clean and easy accessed low level elsan point.
Fresh drinking water is also available on this edge of the site as well as near to the toilet block, consisting of one toilet and sink and a large family size Shower, toilet and sink.
Behind the block is a belfast sink, under cover and lit, for dish/clothes washing.
The Weardale Way is on the northern bank of the river and is accessed from the site by a small footbridge behind the toilet block.
Onsite are the Alpacas, which you can walk with around the rest of the farm, at a reduced rate for those camping, an absolute must as it is so relaxing. Also fresh eggs are also on sale on site.
Half a mile from the site is the village of St John's Chapel with a pub, a cafe and a very well stocked and reasonably priced "Co-op", also the Weardale Museum at Iresopeburn is a few hundred yards walk away. Alston one of the highest Market Towns in England is just 12 miles away home of the South Tynedale Railway. The cafe at the Railway station serves excellent food.
We paid £25. 00 per night with EHU.
Will definitely stay again.

A really fantastic site in a wonderful location with the river Wear running through it.
We visited with our 3 year old granddaughter who loved the alpaca and throwing sticks into the river.
Really quiet but less than a mile from the village with a safe footpath.
We will definitely be back.

Beautiful campsite right next to a river.
Unfortunately for us the weather was not good but this did not spoil our stay.
The couple that run the site could not have been more helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble for them.
I would highly recommend and we can't wait to go back

This is an excellent small site,
Good facilities in a fantastic location looking out over fields to the Lake District hills.
It is close to the village and a short distance from Appleby in Westmorland where there are shops and garages.
The local pub is a few hundred yards away.
Our aim was to walk to High Cup Nick along part of the Pennine Way, starting a mile or so away at Dufton,
The site is an ideal location for access to lots of hill walking.

Well mown 1. 5 acre field set well away from the road on the southern bank of the river Weir. A sturdy gravel road leads into the field giving easy access to caravans.
EHU points are next to the riverside fence with a generous pitch size for each unit. On the roadside edge of the field is a very clean and easy accessed low level elsan point.
Fresh drinking water is also available on this edge of the site as well as near the toilet block.
For tent campers, the area is huge giving tenters/backpackers as much solitude as required away from the caravan area.
There is a small toilet block consisting of a large family sized shower room with toilet and wash basin. Nextdoor is a single toilet room with wash hand basin. Behind the block is a belfast sink, under cover and lit, for dish/clothes washing.
This is beautiful walking country. The weardale Way is on the northern bank of the river and is accessed from the site by a small footbridge behind the toilet block.
Half a mile from the site is the village of St John's Chapel with two pubs a cafe and a very well stocked and reasonably priced "Co-op".
We paid £25. 00 per night with EHU. We are avid walkers and consider this site to be an excellent basecamp in this area.

We have just got back from a stay here and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I rang the owner on the off chance, as we were down the road in a campsite right next to the road, that was totally unsuitable for us and our dogs.
The owners were really helpful and the campsite was beautiful.
Totally unspoilt, with so many walks from the site our dogs were spoilt for choice. One toilet and a separate shower room with toilet.
Both were basic but spotlessly clean and I can’t fault either. The site is well away from the road and it felt like being in the middle of nowhere, but was in walking distance of St John’s Chapel, where there is a co-op and 2 pubs.
Fantastic little site.
