What we liked: This is a beautiful area with lovely views across the valley from the campsite. The toilets and sinks were very clean and were regularly checked and maintained by staff.
There was a pleasant, family-friendly vibe, hawthorn thickets for kids to play in and three different fields to choose from. This is also a site where they say you are allowed to turn up without booking in advance, which suits us a lot.
It's a short drive to Bakewell, so handy for stocking up on supplies or a browse round the shops on a wet day, but feels well out into the country and is close to the utterly beautiful gem that is Lathkill Dale.
What we didn't like: For what is basically a few fields with a tap and three (albeit clean) cloakrooms with no loo roll and no showers, we thought it was eye-wateringly expensive compared to many of the more well-equipped sites we have stayed in.
You are also not allowed to bring your own logs, but the bags of logs that were on sale were expensive, didn't appear to be seasoned and there were very few in a bag.
Although there is a sign at the entrance saying you can just arrive and pitch up without booking, we felt like we had inconvenienced them in doing so because it was bank holiday weekend and they were inundated with phone and online bookings.

We stayed at Lathkill for the early May bank holiday, because of lockdown all the facilities on sote were shut however there is an open public toilet in Over Haddon, under a mile from the site that was very clean.
The site has great veiws and is a short drive from Bakewell where you can get all the items you may need in an emeregncy.
This is a simple back to baiscs camp site that our group all love and we will return again soon.

We stayed here for a long weekend recently.
The views from the site are tremendous.
The staff/owner is really friendly and helpful.
Only water taps and toilets cvurrently but they are planning on installing showers soon.
We will be back here many more times, a great site.
