Abysmal facilities considering the very high site fees. Tired minimal showers and toilets, more suitable for a festival, however the volunteer wardens made an excellent job of cleaning them. No dishwashing facilities. Noisy (very) industrial generator running 24/7, wrong type of unit for a residential situation.
Dogs are supposed to be on leads everywhere on the Holkham estate but some were running loose, including one of the warden’s, she thought it OK to walk into the field an throw a ball for her “special” dogs. Sheep grazing nearby and, of course, massive herd of deer roaming.
We used this site because the Estate were charging £58 at Pinewoods! £41 for the “pop-up” was far too dear, given the facilities. A shame, because the location is fabulous.

The site is within the Holkham Hall estate run by the Caravan & Motorhome Club.
There were limited toilet and shower facilities on site, there is no official washing up or wash basins. So most people used the hand washing facility outside the toilets to clean dishes and teeth. The idea is you use your own really.
It was a bit utilitarian in that it was just row up on row of units, tents were elsewhere and had less facilities still.
It seemed a bit dear at £41 a night. It was a bit like a festival without the music.
The local pub the Victoria was closed to outsiders, so we walked into Wells, which is nice.
They like you to keep dogs on leads because of the sheep and deer. Holkham Hall seem to like money making.
We survived and had a good time but probably wouldn't do it again.
