Lovely location in deepest rural Dordogne. If towing or you have motorhome suggest you approach the site from the direction of Rouffignac. Coming from the other way is miles of single track roads.

Pitches are among trees & site is quite shaded which is good if sun is hot which it was much of the time we were there. Nearest small town about 3 miles away Rouffignac has smallish Carrefour Contact supermarket which can supply all your food & petrol/diesel needs & nearest large supermarkets are around 17miles away in either direction Periguex & Le Bugue.

Rouffignac has a large Sunday market which is nice. Worth pointing out the nearby & better known naturist site Laulurie en Périgord has been sold & is no longer naturist.

There are a number of hard standing pitches along edge of site with a nice view over the valley & if you have caravan or motorhome you will probably directed to these. Other grass pitches are ok for caravans but tent campers also use these.

Some pitches will need a long ehu lead. 25mtres should be sufficient. The Dutch owners speak fluent English & most other campers were Dutch when we visited. Swimming pool is above ground & made of rubber but but fairly large & good enough for a wallow in hot weather.

Site overall is quite large & it is a good walk around the edge of the site but the access to pitches is quite narrow & pitches are just about adequate size. Cars are all parked without exception in grass carpark at front of site.

Vehicle access only allowed on arrival & leaving with wheelbarrows available to transport your shopping to your pitch. Owners are friendly enough but you must strictly sort your recycling & glass disposal has to be off site at any Déchèterie you pass.

Showers & toilets are a bit old & rustic but clean & ok but overall I thought 36€ pn in July was rather steep but maybe that is just me? Payment is in cash.

Cards not accepted which was a bit of a faff but we were able to pay halfway half & half to avoid having to draw out wads of cash.

There are meals available most evenings & lunchtimes & a Pizza van is there one evening a week. Overall site is worth a visit for a week or so as part of your trip.

There are many campsites in France. There are many naturist campsites in France. It is only occasionally you come across one that you think is perfect. Coteau De L’Herm near Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac is one of those.

From the moment you stepout of your car you are warmly welcomed by the owners, Manja and Aschwin. They then show you around the campsite to help you get your bearings. (The toilet and shower block are always lovely and clean. )

They leave you to select whichever pitch is best for you, giving advice if you want it. There are some in the sun, some are shaded and some have a mixture. There are many large pitches. From the the pitches on the Boulevard there is a fantastic view of a quiet valley. In fact from all parts of the campsite the views are beautiful.

There are a number of walks within the grounds, some flat, some hilly that can combine into a lovely 45 minute stroll, all without clothes.

The swimming pool is unique, being made of large rubber walls filled with water, perfect to lie on and sunbathe. There are brilliant views from the pool, which is a good place to chat with other campers.

2 or 3 times a week there is a communal meal (Pizza or Barbeque or Galettes or Spicy Chicken) where the conversation flows as easily as the wine and beer.

There is such a peaceful atmosphere to the site which makes it totally relaxing. We enjoyed it so much we stayed for two periods; one of 4 weeks in July and the other 3 weeks in September.

If you are looking for a small, friendly, easy accessible, beautiful naturist campsite to enjoy long lazy days then I would highly recommend Coteau de L’Herm. We will be back next year.
