A small camp site with beautiful big and immaculately kept pitches.

Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and they are rightly proud of the camping facilities they have created in a lovely patch of mature beech woodland.

I’ve been taking my family camping for 30 years and its great after all this time to find such a gem of a campsite.

It’s so reassuring to be able to camp near to the Pembrokeshire beaches but inland a little with plenty of shelter should the weather turn bad.

Really can’t wait to go back.

Fantastic, quiet site with your own shower/toilet for each pitch. Back to nature for the family.

No WiFi nonsense to worry about so the kids find friends and play in the woods.

Lovely wildlife and wild flowers to admire whilst sitting around the campfire.

If you want big, busy, noisy sites with tarmac roads then don’t go here. We have camped for many years and this is up there with our top 2 sites.

Lovely host mother and daughter, Celia and Isabel

We had a fabulous 10 night stay at Little Welsh Wood in August. It is small enough to be intimate but with enough facilities to be comfortable.

There are no frills - the toilets and showers are housed in an open-ended shed - but everything is clean, spacious and well laid out. The woods are perfect, full of wild flowers, and only cut back just enough to easily move around.

The setting is perfectly natural - no manicured lawns, just grassy clearings in between the trees.

Each pitch has a wooden food preparation hut, which is really useful for storage too. Wooden picnic benches are provided, along with a fire pit for each pitch.

There is also a communal sink with hot water for washing up and a fridge/freezer available for shared use. Sitting around the open fire at night chatting with relatives and other campers was just perfect.

The campsite is well located for dozens of fabulous beaches, the picturesque town of Pembroke with its impressive castle and beautiful walks along the Pembrokeshire coastal paths.

The only minor downside for us was that there wasn’t a pub within walking distance of the campsite itself, which meant someone always had to be the designated driver.

The hosts Celia and Isabel are super friendly and very welcoming but not overbearing. If you are happy to swap wi-fi, playgrounds and a laundry for nature, peace & quiet and open fires at dusk then you couldn't do any better than Little Welsh Wood.
