I stayed here on my final night whilst backpacking across Hadrian's wall. It's very convenient being right next to the path.

The pub staff were very friendly, attentive and accommodating in arranging a suitable table for me inside the pub to watch the Euro Semi Finals in the eve at short notice!

The pub food is also of an excellent standard!

Their website states this is a basic campsite with no facilities. If you can cope without a shower for one night, and don't mind using the loos in the pub then this is an excellent spot.

Furthermore there is an outside drinking-water tap on the camping field.
