Superb site with a very warm welcome from Dawn and Andy.
We were a party of 9 people with 5 motorhomes and 2 dogs.
The site was Well kept, we enjoyed our cream tea's and complementary breakfast bap when we left.
We all agreed we'd stay here again if we were coming this way.
We found the walk into Welshpool easy and had an excellent lunch at the Royal Oak.

The owners, Dawn and Andy, were able to accommodate us at short notice when our travel plans changed. We were made most welcome on arrival and given a swift tour of the facilities.
The closely mown paddock with neatly trimmed hedges provided reasonably level pitching and we were able to align the camper so as to deploy the awning to its best advantage, rather necessary with a heatwave looming.
There is no grey water disposal point - we were happy to follow the instruction to use the hedge bottoms.
The view to the east is superb. At Dawn’s suggestion we strolled across the fields to the south and east then returned along the roads. The walk into Welshpool is more-or-less level but through a somewhat workaday environment.
Once across the railway, however, the town proves delightful with good local shops as well as the entrance to Powis castle. I especially appreciated the canal towpath which has recently been improved and provides a great cycle route, as well as lots of interesting canal structures to look at.
The crowning glory, though, is the site’s USP - filled breakfast baps delivered to your pitch if you stay 2 nights or more. It’d be rude not to.

A nice CL, easy to find following the CAMC directions. A good welcome from Dawn. Fruit to help yourself to and a complimentary breakfast bap if staying for 3 or more nights.
£20 per night in July/August, £16 otherwise. There is a walk from the site but not really very good. OK for dogs though.
Welshpool is close by, has several supermarkets of which Morrisons is the nearest. It also has the canal running through it, which makes a decent enough walk.
Access to the Severn seems to be limited.
We would use the site again as a stopover if in the area.
