Stayed here during the heat wave of July 21! Very little shade from trees but just about managed to shade using my car. The tent heat was unbearable.
Overall a really nice stay, the staff were friendly, the facilities were spotless, and had everything we needed.
A major downside for us was that appropriate social distancing, covid guidance and the wearing of masks were not enforced at all in shared areas like the toilet facilities. There were no signs up and the staff weren’t wearing them in the shop either. Other campsite users were therefore not wearing them either.
The campsite is very noisy from the nearby road even when you are at the furthest point in the second field.
Noise from large groups does go on past 12 and staff aren’t enforcing the quiet after 11 rule they have.
There is a lack of toilet and shower facilities for the number of people on the site. 2 men’s toilets and two men’s showers. (If there were any extra then we didn’t see any and there were no signs indicating any more)
Showers do cost extra also, 20p for 2 min or £1 for 10 mins which is a bit of a pain. Push button showers would have helped be more sustainable.
