Vastly overpriced at £27 per night with scanty facilities in basic buildings where night time internal lights did not work properly.

Facilities consisted of 1 unit each for men and women with the shower, wash basin and loo behind a lockable door. This means if the shower is in use there is no access to loo or wash basin facilities.

Camp site is in a nice location with good views but substantially overpriced compared to other sites with much better facilities.

Fire wood also overpriced.

There is a sign for the campsite on Farm lane from the A49 direction, but not the B5477 direction. You go to the barn to check in. You can also sit under there or BBQ there. You can check in and check out when you want which is very useful. It was £27 per night, which is not bad for 4 people but a bit expensive for 2.

It was one of the best views from a campsite I’ve seen and it’s a beautiful area. There are proper pitches. We were put in the middle of a small field. The grass was nice quality and not too long. I didn’t see any mud. It wasn’t too crowded even though I think all the pitches were taken.

There is a train line running right past the campsite. The trains took 7 seconds to pass and didn’t wake me once I was asleep. There was a bit of road noise but not too loud. There were lots of trains in the early hours of Monday.

I got 4g on Virgin mobile.

There were only two proper toilets per sex but nice enough for a farm campsite. The portaloos were ok. I didn’t have to queue, even on a sunny bank holiday in august, but the mornings looked busy as a lot of people went for showers then and the showers were in the same room as the toilets.

There are two washing up sinks, one doubles as drinking water so there was often a queue. The other sink had a hot water tap but there was no hot water when we werehed up the first time, it was warm but not hot the second time.

They came around offering fire pits at 5pm. It’s dark there at night, you need a torch to get to the loos and also inside one of them.

It’s a very short walk to the Yew Tree Inn, mostly off-road, with 2 stiles, there was lots of outdoor seating (some covered) and table service outside. The food was good.

We did a 5. 9 mile loop walking from the campsite through cardingmill valley and back which wasn’t too arduous and was stunning.

The play area on google street view at the entrance to the campsite no longer exists. There is one in church Stretton.

There is a wide footpath all the way down the B road to Church Stretton, or you can follow the public footpath that runs parallel to the road for a longer more scenic route.

If you’ve never been to Tuffins at Craven Arms it’s well worth a visit, they have all the food and drink you need plus camping accessories, fuel and a lovely cafe.
