 I booked this site primarily because it was within reasonable driving distance of my girlfriend's work as her holidays got cancelled so she was 'commuting' whilst we were there. Chap on the phone/email was really friendly and we booked a tent pitch with electric.
The drive down to the site from the main Whitby road was gorgeous, but very narrow and winding - often single track with passing places. I would not recommend those with large caravans or supersize RVs attempting it unless you are very experienced. The roads are also popular with cyclists
It's a pretty little site and well laid out. The pitches are sloping though so are better for a van than a tent. We did end up sliding around a lot, especially after a few glasses of wine!
The facilities are unisex. There are 2 sinks, loos and showers. Perfectly adequate and with plenty of hot water. The site owners were away so had some friends looking after the place, and they were really friendly and helpful
Lawnsgate Farm has some unique features too. Across the road in their sister farm there are Alpacas which are friendly and inquisitive. On occasion there are walks across the moors with them too. There is also a vintage fire engine on site which has been converted to a mobile pizza oven
In fact the only thing I can fault on this site is that it isnt level, at least not where we pitched. Great sit and I will definitely return, though I'll take the van next time!
