Nice traditional CL with lovely owners. Large well drained grass field with plenty of electric hook up points plus water and CDP disposal. Excellent TV signal and easy access of the road.

Plenty to do in the area, five minutes walk to The Chequers Gastro pub. Fifteen minutes walk into Dorchester on Thames, the setting for many an episode of Midsomer Murders.

In the real world it has an Abbey, Co-Op, three hotels/pubs and a further Fifteen minutes walk to Days Lock on the Thames and Wittenham Clumps.

Easy access by car into Oxford Park and Ride, Wallingford, Didcot Railway Centre and the museum of Minature Landscape /model railway at Long Wittenham and Henley on Thames.

We had passed this site a few weeks before we were booked to arrive as we were passing to ensure we knew where to go, glad we did as post code was misleading but only a minor discrepancy.

Arrived and followed arrival instructions and met by the owners who were very friendly, helpful and chilled which was great and so much space to pick a spot to park away from others a real treat compared to the sites where you are parked 6m apart if you are lucky.

Beautiful area between Oxford and Reading with lots of red kites flying overhead of the site, a little close to a main road but it was surprising how easy it was to forget the road and enjoy the site.

We will be back as we loved the site and the area and the nearest pub which was The Chequers which is outstanding.

See you soon

Another very pleasant good value CL, a very large open grass field, plenty of wildlife, multiple pitching options.

Some undulations to consider.

Grass nicely cut on our stay. EHU fine, two water points, bins & CDP by security key pad gate. All fine.

We had Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Windsor & Abingdon on our list to visit so this was a great mid point. We used the park & bus ride for our Oxford visit, £5 inc parking all day.

Dog friendly pleasant owners live adjoining if needed. Email information received.

Quiet overnight rural position, a minor road adjoins and a nearby Bikers Cafe can be heard daytime & early evening but didn’t cause us any great hardship.

Will return when repeating visits and others on our list.

Recommended.

A perfectly acceptable and very large CL, you certainly won't be on top of your neighbours. Easy to find as per the CAMC instructions, but would suggest, if coming from the east, to use the B roads for the last few miles so as to miss out the Oxford ring road.

The site could do with a better sign as it's hidden in the hedge, but you are asked to phone the owner when 10 minutes away, then they will come and open the gate.

You will pay in advance by BACS, so not sure why they don't give the code then. You will see a very large tree which marks the entrance. There is a red kite, one of many, which lives in it.

It's actually just in Dorchester on Thames, which is an attractive village with a small CO OP. It has an abbey (actually the church) and some reasonable walks round about.

The best place is Whittenham Clumps, where you can walk up or round the 2 hills. Get to them via Clifton Hampden, as there are not many bridges over the Thames. The nearest fuel station is here, on the main road before the turn to Wittenhams and Didcot.

Abingdon is lovely, with a good walk along the river, Oxford is not far, so it would make a good touring centre for this part of the country.

The site itself has 3 EHUs on the far side of the field, and 2 on the nearside. We chose the nearside and were bothered by leaves, not the site owners' fault obviously.

The grass was a bit too long. We would use the site again if we were in the area. It would benefit from bins, water and CWD a bit nearer to the caravans; the bins are emptied often and the whole area kept very clean.

£17 per night is fair enough.
