Easy to book online and a very reasonable price of £22 including hook up.
Welcomed by Vicky after details of where to pitch were found in the tuck shop (which has lots of goodies and books to read too).
One single shower, one separate toilet plus another toilet and shower in a different room - clean though rustic and watch out for the automatic light going off if you are in there too long :) Just needs something different to step on when you exit the shower.
Plenty of pitches to choose from when we were there so we chose the lower field. Grass was short and easy access into sheep field to walk the dog.
Large, well equipped kitchen too.
We did notice the nearby trains which run from 5. 30 am to 11pm ish but that's probably because we live in an extremely quiet village.
This is a very well equipped site, good for visiting the Yorkshire Dales.
Safe location for single travellers too.

Lovely spacious hot showers, washing machine and dryer,

What a delight this site is.
All the pitches have Electric Hook Ups. The only downside is pitches are all Grass which will put some people off but it is very nicely kept, short and with no bits of grass to carry into your van.
There is an old church next to the site it is usually open during the day.
The town of Northallerton is 4 miles away with plenty of shops and Markets Wednesday and Saturday.
The site has plenty of wildlife, Sheep that will allow you to stroke them, Birds and their own Barn Owl.
The site has honesty shop where you can get Ice cream etc the coast to coast walkers stop off there for the night and have their own cooking kitchen etc.

Agree with previous reviews, absolute gem of a site.
We aren't fans of grass pitches but it was firm, well cut and no clippings (there is one hardstanding but its first come first served. All pitches have electric, there are 5 in first field then another 5 through gate, plus a little tent area for walkers.
Loos /showers in outbuildings, they are clean if rustic.
Honesty tuck room is fabulous with great ice cream. Campers kitchen in an outbuilding with washing up, fridge microwave etc.
Dog walking on site or through the village, straight over at the crossroads and follow path through farmland, stunning walk.
This site was half the price of several other sites we used and was one of our favourites. We only used for a one night stopover but would stay again if in the area for longer. Last thing to say, owners super friendly, helpful and working hard to keep the site as lovely as it us.

Vicky, Steve and Isabel were the perfect hosts, offering the warmest of welcomes, and couldn’t do enough to ensure all their guests’ needs were met.
The location is a picturesque village which is perfect for exploring both the eastern Dales and the North Yorkshire moors, as well as local attractions, right next to the Parish Church which is full of local history.
Not far from Northallerton for shopping and fuel, also Thirsk where the James Herriot Museum is - which offers a reduction for Club Members.
The fees were very reasonable and the facilities were of a high standard; the toilets and showers were extremely clean and well maintained, the site even offered a kitchen area where guests could make hot drinks, prepare food and do laundry using the washing machine and a tumble dryer exclusive for guests to use.
The tuck shop, which operated on an ‘honesty’ basis, selling eggs, a range of sweets and ice creams, there were also home-baked cakes which were very reasonably priced.
With its own dedicated field one of the best stopping stop-off points for walkers doing the coast-to-coast route.
The site was pretty flat throughout and the grass well maintained.
Would highly recommend this site, and plan to return soon.

Fabulous campsite and tremendous value. Facilities are terrific for such a modest tariff and such a small site.
A beautiful location too, adjacent to a lovely old church for anyone who values peace and quiet.
Amenities are especially excellent for anyone tent camping, as it’s on the ‘Coast to Coast’ walk.
There’s an excellent tuck shop, showers & toilet block, fully equipped kitchen with dining table, even a games room!
For anyone with a dog there’s a pleasant walk around the little village, passing the little pub; the only other facility in the village itself for visitors.
Vicky and her family are extremely welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
Whilst there are no shops in Danby Whiske, it is only 10 minutes or so from Northallerton with its lovely High St and just about every chain store imaginable.
We’ll certainly be back again this summer.
