The site was easy to find and the owner was very helpful. We were the only van there so able to pick whichever pitch we wanted.
As it was raining we chose the highest pitch, there was some puddling on the lower pitches.
The downside of this site was the tiny black gravel covering the pitch. We had to be careful to wipe feet and remove shoes before getting into the van. Not so easy with the dogs feet though :) Constantly having to wipe the dogs feet made me quite unpopular!
However, that was the only down side, the positives for this site were: great location with lots of lovely walks straight from the door. Mostly off road paths led into St Abbs village, just a tiny bit off road walking, less that 200 yards but the road was quiet and the whole walk into the village was less than 5 minutes.
The pitch was fully serviced which was a great addition.
The owner had to show us how to get the electricity on as it was a system we hadn't encountered before, that said, the owner came very quickly to show us and was very pleasant and helpful.
The toilet emptying point were easily accessible and super clean. Just outside of the site gate is a quirky art gallery and cafe.
The road to the side of the site leading into St. Abbs was quiet. We would stay here again but maybe when the weather is a little drier to stop the gravel getting into the van.
