Absolutely outstanding site, and customer care.
We found ourselves needing a pitch at short notice.
Arrived after dark and were greeted by the owner, who gave us a full brief and assisted us to park up.
What an amazing caring owner and a super special site.
Views of open fields, good facilities and plenty of space for vans, people and good walking for our dogs.

This is a nice little site but the pitches are not large and there seems to be a few caravans that are there all the time.
To gain entry you have to have a code to a padlock and then open the gates and obviously lock it behind yourself which is ok when weather is nice but not when it's chucking it down.
The site has electric, water, CDP and bins just the way we like it and is priced accordingly at £15 pn with electric but awning is extra £2.
It has a lovely walk up the hill to the woods.
The main road near the site is busy and can be very noisy even at night.
There is a lovely pub down the road in epperstone called The kitchen at the cross keys which does very good food, it hasn't got a massive choice but all the same worth a look.

We stayed at this delightful CL for a few nights between Christmas and New Year for a change of scenery, we live only 20 mins away. We enjoyed a riverside walk at Gunthorpe (the river was in flood), and had a fantastic meal at Timmermans garden centre both of which are a short drive from the site. Lots more to see and do in this area but we were happy to stay on site most of the time.
The site is adjacent a business centre which has the family-run caravan storage facility to the rear. Looks to be good secure storage actually. We were the only camper and it was very quiet, occasional vehicle to the units did not detract, neither the main road (which has a 50mph limit) because it was far enough away.
There are 3 hardstandings near the entrance, and 2 grass pitches higher up, although there are more hookup points so in theory a possibility to pick your preferred spot. The CL pitches are to the left of the gate, there are two hardstanding pitches to the right which are probably seasonal.
The gate has a chain and combination lock, not sure the arrangement when the site is full, we kept it shut and locked. When you arrive, turn in as if to the caravan storage and park up. You will see the entrance on the right, it was a little tight for our twin axle as we have a long tow car.
Because of the trees there is zero chance of using a satellite dish, but not needed because of the abundance of Freeview channels. Didn't even need to rotate the aerial. Very strong and reliable 4G signal for Internet connectivity.
The owners were very friendly and almost falling over themselves to make us welcome. It was really wet during our stay and the grass wasn't too boggy, the harstanding was perfect. There are a lot of trees, obviously not in leaf that would normally provide a lot of shelter, also the big 6' thick hedge.
They also block out the view to the main road leaving the arable fields to view from the caravan windows. The pitches are pretty flat, just needed raising 6" on levelling ramps on one side. There are no facilities on site and that's what we like as we prefer our own and it keeps the price low.
We paid £12/night including electric. Bargain. Plenty of dog walking through the extensive woods but our old timer wasn't really up to it. Shame, was picture perfect even in winter.
