We were sited close to the new toilets/showers and were about ten metres from nearest tent, who put fire facing our small tent, but the wind blew the fumes our way and being asthmatic, had to wear a face mask.

The toilet/shower doors are pine and have holes and gaps between joins, so need wood filler, or lined with bathroom paper.

Also door catches were bent and hard to close and engaged sign stuck on vacant, so had people trying to force the door.

Maybe a sign on a door hook that could be turned around by occupant, would prevent this.

We got a text to turn tv off, yet it was on subtitles, only the screen light was on, so what harm was this, we did not have the tv on for next two nights as spoiled our enjoyment.

I liked the new toilets and showers which are solidly built and we were given a site close to them as I am disabled.

I didn't like the firepit in the tent next door, as I am asthmatic and there was a lot of smoke pouring out. Suggest that owner asks nearby tent dwellers if they object before placing them a few yards away.

This site is 5 miles inland from Skegness, so luckily we could get a tv connection.

 Liked:

- Water tap on each electric point, with draining-stones underneath

- Site not too big

- Flat

- Fairly quiet - not much road noise and surrounded by fields. Watching the late night harvest in the surrounding fields was lovely!

- Hot water for the showers (in 2 weeks I just had one that alternated between boiling and freezing)

- Space to play in the middle of the field

- One night there was intermittent loud music - this didn't happen again so assume the owner dealt with it

- Close to Skegness where there was lots to do (10 min drive)

- Fire pits allowed

- Groups allowed but none were overly noisy

- Surrounded by quiet, single track roads which was good for my child to gain confidence on the road on his bike

Disliked:

- Some pitches were small and people seemed much too close together in some places (the fire risk associated with this worried me).

- Very basic showers and toilets and I expected better given the price (we paid £25 per night)

- Couldn't control the shower temperature

- The shower room didn't drain well and the floor quickly got waterlogged and dirty. A drain on the other side, not just in the shower cubicle, would have helped. There was a mop and bucket but this was dirty. The facilities were cleaned twice a day and I didn't feel they were mistreated, it was just their basic design that resulted in the dirt.

- No sinks in the toilets, just hand gel. The sinks were in with the showers, with no soap. I have never stayed at a site without running water in the toilets. Obviously, the shower was sometimes occupied when I wanted to use the sink.

- The toilets ran out of toilet roll at some point most days. They needed a second dispenser or a much bigger dispenser and/or more regular checks. Signs were put up whilst we were there to say don't use your own as it may block the system but it was unrealistic to expect people to manage without!

- Shower controls too high for my 9 year old to turn on and off independently - we sent him in with a stick in the end so he could reach!

-Some of the toilet and shower door locks were too stiff for children

- Often there was an unpleasant smell of sewage near the toilets and sometimes it spread all the way across the field which seemed to come from the grey waste

- One weekend there was a large dog which I did not see on a lead at any point. I witnessed it attacking 2 other small dogs on leads. You could say this wasn't the campsite owner's fault but I had seen him deliver wood to those with the dog off the lead, chat to them and pet it (off the lead), about 30 mins before the attack. He did not get them to put it on the lead when he was with them. It then left poo in the middle of the field, which the campsite owner cleared straight away when I reported it. To be fair, this was the only one I saw not on a lead but I wasn't happy. When my children tried to play tennis they had to stop because it wouldn't leave them alone (also overheard another dog-owner saying how unfair it was that they kept their dog on a lead and it had to watch this one loose)!

I realise the site is quite new and the owners may only have had limited funds to spend on it during their first season. With better toilets and showers and bigger pitches, it has the potential to be good and I would hope it would be either improved by next year or cheaper.

This is a campsite that is growing fast. Luckily it wasn't too busy when we were there because two showers (with sinks) and three toilets (without sinks, only antibac gel) would not be enough if the campsite was full.

Nice quiet location and a lovely welcome when we arrived but a bigger toilet/shower setup would make all the difference.

Elderly/disabled mother and daughter, camped in small tent,

Owner showed us a plot, but wasn't our booked plot, she told us we would have more room for a bigger tent, but we were hemmed in.

Our original plot was taken by an enormous tent, who then parked his trailer next to us, so we had to park ten yards away.

Toilet/showers just two each, were portable and swayed - so very unsteady and metal steps toppled over - no hand rails and have to mop floors as get flooded by shower and rain, needs drill holes.

Kids on bikes very late in dark, music played after 11pm and log burners stunk, all too close to our tent.

No checking by owners.
