We had a wonderful and very quiet stay at Offras Dyke campsite.
A magnificent view indeed!
Nobody else on the campsite so we had all space for ourselves.
Everything was available (warm douche, toilet and some basic food stuff, woodfire supplies etc) But all very basic.
If you enjoy camper free sites without swimming pools and child entertainment this is your spot!

We had been advised this site was not opening in 2023, however we are delighted to confirm it is open as a popup campsite for tents only.
If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

Unfortunately our stay ended after only one night. It was not what we were expecting, advertised as ten pitches and probably more like 20, and large groups. Which made the two composting toilets somewhat inadequate.
The owners worked hard to keep them clean, but there are those who quite clearly don't know how to use them. The doors did not lock and little children playing peek a boo as you sat there, was not conducive to 'going'.
Children helping themselves to the produce on offer, in my opinion was disgraceful, which is not the fault of the owners, but overcrowded sites are less tranquil or controllable.
Cars, who were told to park in the allocated area ignored this and headlights and engines during the night not acceptable.
We had to be shown how to get to the site as there were no signs to it in the village.
The one place to wash dishes was the only handbasin to brush teeth or wash hands and it was blocked.
We found sick behind our tent, and as it got dark it became very noisy.
A ten pm noise curfew was ignored. Two small rubbish bins overflowed as they were emptied, so basically we drove home still in our nightwear, and brushed our teeth when we got home.
We cannot recommend this place, even though the owners were lovely and as helpful as they could be
