What a great little site!
It is a 5 pitch CL, tucked away at the back of a working farm in a peaceful, rural location yet only a 15-20 drive from Kendal and Windermere and with the varied attractions of the southern Lake District and the Furness Peninsula a little further afield.
Access is straightforward, though along some narrowish and hilly roads at times, but especially when towing it is important to follow the instructions given by the owners to avoid very narrow single track lanes. The entrance to the site itself is very easy to enter and leave from the road.
Each of the fully-serviced, hardstanding pitches with 16 amp hook-up is wide enough for a van plus awning with space to spare, and long enough to accommodate van and car. There is a grass area between and to the back of each pitch and a sturdy picnic bench/table for each pitch, all looking out over grassy hillsides.
There is a single shower and toilet in a little freestanding cabin just as you enter the site at the top of the driveway, with the bins and chemical toilet disposal nearby.
On a little hillside opposite but separate from the CL there are 4 or 5 self-contained glamping pods, but these do not impact on the site.
We really enjoyed our stay here in the glorious spring weather, with beautiful scenery all around and daffodils everywhere! Although no dedicated dog-walk, we found plenty of walking along quiet country lanes, public footpaths and bridleways from the site.
Currently priced at £20 per night we initially thought it was a bit expensive for a CL, but given current caravan site prices and the standard of this site and its facilities, we were happy to pay it. We will definitely return.
