Met by friendly warden who told us about the site, walks (dog friendly) and the local pub.

The pitch was hard standing but there was lots of room to put your awning on grass (they wanted you to do that). There were small bushes around your pitch so you felt as if you had a small garden.

Some pitches had water as well as electricity, but no water waste. There was a stream / river beside the site and you could get a river side pitch (we will go for one of these next time :-) ).

The facilities were great. Free washing machine and dryer, Microwave, and two washing up sinks. Two clean and good showers for male and female. Dog friendly.

You could use the river for paddle boarding and canoeing but you only had about 200m of usable water.

Just next door is a great pub which does food and is very dog friendly.

It is about 30 mins to the local towns so it's a bit remote (that's why only 9/10 for location) but that is part of the sites charm. Edinburgh is not that far away and you can get a train from Tweedbank.

It's not too big and not too small.

We will be going back.

Just returned from 7 nights at Bonnie Park which is a little gem of a spot whether for a quick stop as a gateway to Scotland or a great base for exploring further.

We had a super size riverside pitch which housed our XL 6man tent, gazebo and loo tent easily with space. We parked our cars in the pub car park next door to give the extra space.

The facilities are first class. Beautiful new toilets and showers, serviced and cleaned all day. Modern pot wash with double sink and oodles of hot water and free washer and tumble dryer if you need it.

The friendly warden is there 24/7 for whatever needed. Site is quiet by 11oclock which really suited us and safe for the children to play and entertain themselves.

We used as a base to explore including Jedburgh, Kelso and the train to Edinburgh for the day. Beautiful walks in the area too. Lots of supermarkets in Hawick just 15mins away.

The only reason I hesitate to give a 10/10 is the road noise. Motorbikes racing along the top road were loud at times (day and night).

All in all a little gem, we loved it.

I recently visited the campsite at the invitation of an old friend.

Even the journey there was adventurous, there were some of the smallest roads with a lot of gradients and climbs, that was pure fun.

The site is beautifully situated on a river where the salmon make their way to their birthplace every year.

I liked the place from the start. Not too big, not too small and with plots that are nicely presented. The sanitary facilities are great, and there is also electricity. What more do you want.

By the way, the operator lived in Germany for a few years and therefore speaks German.

The mood among the people is always good, the locals are very funny and friendly people. The environment is very beautiful. I rode my motorcycle around for days.

I don't want to forget to mention the quintessentially British pub just around the corner, super cozy.

So if you are looking for a typical British campsite with very nice people and great surroundings, you are in good hands here.

5 Stars :-)

Was will man mehr. 5 Sterne :-)

Clean, new, thoughtful facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This place has recently re-opened I believe, and deserves success.

The local pub is brilliant too.

You’ll feel instantly at home.

A peaceful rural site with a lovely riverside woodland walk.

Pitches are well-spaced and well-maintained, and recently planted privet hedging around each pitch will grow to provide more privacy.

Facilities are beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean.

A warden lives on-site and is very friendly and helpful.

15 minutes away from both Hawick and Jedburgh for shopping, and the Horse and Hound is right next door - good food and friendly staff.

 Site was still under construction (16. 06. 2022) as opening 01. 07. 2022.

Owners working on facilities which will be first class when finished, they are very friendly and allowed us to stay anyway as we didn't need any thing.

Good food in pub next door.
Highly recommend
