 We chose this site because of its location, and it's very convenient, being able to walk into La Flotte, which is lovely. We booked on line, and we're able to use our ASCI card.
There's a bus stop which takes you into the centre of La Rochelle, which we didn't do in the end, as there was plenty to do on the island. It takes about an hour.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and most speak English.
As for the campsite, most pitches are large, but sandy which can tread into your caravan.
While clean, the toilets and showers are outdated and tired, and in need of an upgrade. While there are 4 smallish toilet blocks, they could do with more showers. There's plenty of hot water for showers, washing up etc.
We didn't use the pool, which looked great, as the weather could have been better.
It was useful being able to order, and then collect fresh bread each morning.
There are cycle maps available at reception, and there are routes straight from the campsite. They also hire out bikes.

Phoned in advance and spoke to a very charming girl who agreed our site would be “bien ombragé”
Arrived and were shown to pitch which had not one iota of shade. Threw hissy fit to the extremely charming young people in reception. Eventually they agreed to change pitch which was so sandy the jockey wheel sank straight in completely and the plastic netting on the site was so deformed that it lifted and jammed under the wheels. , but hey ho it was shady!
On the positive side the young people in reception (holiday jobs?) had wonderful interpersonal skills even if they seemed unaware of the state of pitches.
The sanitaires are clean, the water hot and toilet paper provided.
The free wifi is good in the odd intervals in which connection is maintained.
Cycling is good and La Flotte en Ré is delightful.
Being used to family run sites (of which Flowers Campings used to be), this corporate type of site is not for us
