Our family of 5 stayed at Lakeside in a Gold Standard Static caravan this Easter holiday. On arrival we were given a map and key and told that the maintenance man was waiting for us at our caravan. He showed us the controls for the heating and gave us a basic run-through on the TV, fire etc. What hit us at first was how clean the caravan smelled and looked. It was obvious that the carpet had recently been shampooed although it was dry. The whole caravan was spotless and was like a luxury home inside.

The site shop covers the basics and the people on reception are friendly and informed. It is a small site and even though it was busy when we were there, it has a relaxing, quiet feel to it. Not ideal for everyone I suppose, but perfect for our young family. It has a small adventure playground for the younger kids - our 2 year old loved it.

The site is about half a mile at most from Burnham sea front. There are supermarkets and petrol stations within walking distance.

All in all a quiet, fairly low key, friendly and immaculately presented site which is very conveniently located.

Well run site not to far from beach shops etc. Very friendly, have been here twice would come back again. Was pleased with facilities although limited shop wise, nearby supermarkets made up for this. Also kept clean and tidy. Good value site. Good fishing to be had on site, from roach, rudd to carp in excess of 20lbs. Competitions most weeks. Several good eating houses within local area, including a Wetherspoons and a hungry horse. Nearby supermarkets include a small tesco and normal size morrisons. Hope this helps

This was a lovely site to stay on for the week. The 2 outdoor swimming pools were an absolute hit with the children as well as adults (early mornings allocated to adults only for serious swimming). We didn't use the on site entertainment as there was plenty to discover further afield on day trips.

There is a play area more central within the park. There is a cycle hire there which we used for adults only (we took the children's bikes only) which was good value. The children were able to cycle around the site and meet other children - always a hit!

Plenty of geocaches nearby for those who enjoy that hobby!

Many others made use of the fishing facilities at the lake which was a lovely peaceful area.

The caravan was clean and bed linen ready (gold plus) when we arrived. The WIFI you need to obtain a code for for access - it was just about usable from the caravan (we were quite nearby to the entertainment facility) but much better at the pool and bar.

Downside - not as close to the beach as we originally thought - we didn't feel enticed to go investigate it as not in obvious sight.

Good campsite with 2 heated outdoor pools

1 organised event for the children at 11am lasting for about 30 minutes, except on a Friday when it lasts much longer. There is also a children's disco in the evening with games. I cannot comment on the evening entertainment since the bingo came first and the act did not start until 9:45 and we had young children with us so could not stay to watch. Friday night was noisy with lots of people leaving the club and banging on caravans. Over all a good holiday for the money. The site had an amusement arcade and a shop that sold the most basic of products.

The tide was out all week during the day and we were unable to approach the sea at low tide. We did manage to get our feet in the water once during the week and it was very warm ( although a bit muddy )

Absolutely fantastic site, plenty for the children to do, has a fishing lake for the keen angler, outdoor heated pool for the children and the entertainment for the family was fantastic.
Everybody was friendly, staff were fantastic, was not sure at first about the location, being Burnham, I thought it would be dead, but it was a fantastic holiday.
Caravans were definetly up to standard for the price: £430 for a week in a gold 6 berth, we have stayed at lots of places including Haven sites, where the children have not enjoyed themselves half as much, that is why we will be going back here for 2 weeks in 2007.
If you get a chance to have a holiday, definetly look up this place, it's a little gem of a place, very family friendly.
