 Stayed here as a two night stopover, going South. It’s about 10km off the A20. - satnav took us off at J23. 2; J23. 1 is the better option.
This is deep France. As we approached the site I made the passing remark it was the sort of town where you’d expect to be stopped by a donkey and a flock of chickens. As it turned out, both could be heard from our pitch.
The site is otherwise very quiet apart from birdsong. There are about two dozen pitches, (a couple have statics) all close to the facility block, and play area and dog space on a hill nearby. Over the hill are a series of modern chalets for hire.
The snack bar and reception are in another block, up a path past the motor home area and water point. From the bar there’s a steep stepped path down to a small pool (too early in season for us) and then down the ravine to the Gartempe below.
There’s an Intermarché supermarket and filling station a short drive away. All in all, a great place to relax, worth a few days.
