Lovely little simple campsite, the owner was friendly and accommodating.

Really enjoyed our stay

Lovely pub on site we had a great 3 course meal for £22 each and they even cooked my pampered pooch some liver

 I agree with 'athena'.

Wouldn't stay there again.

Like a building site and the toilet block is terrible.

Shower cubicles to small, cobwebs and dusty floor. Bare concrete not even tiled or mats.

Cramped changing area. Pot wash area even worse no floor, just gravel.

Maybe when new building is finished at entrance it will have toilets and showers.

Noise from main a68 was awful.

This is not a site I would want to return to, it’s a building site. I’m not sure what they’re building but it’s been in progress a long time now.

Hopefully it’s a toilet/shower block as the current ones are shocking.

They’re more like an outbuilding that someone has stuck a toilet in. The roof wasn’t really attached and you have to fight your way through the cobwebs and wildlife. With no toilet roll. The shower has no heating and the water was freezing. Luckily we had our own facilities.

The chemical disposal point was no better. Again you have to fight through the cobwebs and it looked as though it had never been cleaned.

The whole area had a very strong cannabis smell (obviously not the campsites fault)

I’m really not sure what we were paying £25 per night for with an extra £6 if you need to bring a car, if you have a motorhome.

NB check out is 10 am not great for those who don’t want to be up early to pack away.

On a positive note. The pub next door is amazing. Lovely food and staff.

Likes: Convenient location, lovely views had the weather been kinder and really good ground for tent pitching. The pegs went in very easily.

Owner was friendly on arrival and site not too busy. Good to have charging points in the pot wash area, thank you. The Manor Inn next door was open, though we only had a drink there. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Dislikes: Unable to contact site on either email or mobile number which was annoying as I had a couple of questions. Hence, a lower score on customer service due to inability to contact prior to arrival.

Personally, I found the price a little too high for one couple, a vehicle and a small 2 man tent - fair enough had I taken the family tent and not the small one.

But as this was simply a one night stop over for work I would have been quite happy with a little corner somewhere. I'm not sure my Berghaus Air 6 would have fitted onto the pitch we had so consider this if you have a larger tent.

As per other reviews, it appears to be a work in progress so there are a couple of areas to finish off.

Overall a pleasant site which served it's purpose for our stay and I would consider using it again.
