We spent two lovely weeks at Valalta as a part of a three-month European tour in our motorhome last year.

The site is superb, with stunning scenery on many of the touring pitches. We were initially concerned about being unable to book a touring pitch during peak summer holiday season. We had a ‘plan B’ to fall back on in case it was fully booked.

Our concerns were unfounded, and their non-booking system actually worked in our favour as it meant that we could choose the length of our stay, according to the weather. It also meant that we could move to a pitch with a better view, as one became available, which we did. We just informed reception that we had moved.

The touring pitches vary in size and elevation but are all fully serviced with water electric hook up and drainage. One word of warning, access to some of the more elevated pitches is very steep and walking to and from them is very strenuous but the views are wonderful.

An electric bike or scooter would be a great asset for popping to or from anywhere on site. There are lots pitches virtually at sea level, so lots of options.

The facilities were always spotless at all times during our visit. 5 star in all areas, toilets, showers, laundry areas and washing up areas.

Valalta is huge, but we found it quiet overnight around the pitches that we were close to. It was nice to take advantage of its size and to walk the length of its promenade and various beaches.

Popping into a bar or dipping into the sea, maybe stopping for a bite of lunch on the way, looking forward to the return journey and much the same on the way back. There were plenty of different options for sunbathing. Either sandy, rocky, or grassed areas always with plenty of sunbeds.

The swimming, in the sea was lovely, the water is crystal clear, again with a variety of different areas to choose from ranging from rocky to sandy and deep to shallow. We didn’t use the swimming pools but both looked superb, one with a swim up bar. The main pool had full refreshments and a bar.

A couple of bars on the front have seating and tables that are sited in salt water, these are drained at night and refilled the next day. We enjoyed these bars and found them to be well shaded and cooler, with the feet being under water.

There is a well-stocked shop with a great selection of local products and several other shops selling pretty much all you could want for on a holiday. Rovinj is the nearest town, it is beautiful and there is a bus stop outside the main reception to get you there and back.

One of our highlights was the fish picnic, a boat trip for several hours which can be booked at the on site marina. The coastline here is really stunning, and this trip showed it off perfectly. The crew were amazing, and both entertained and catered for us on the cruise.

We stopped and swam at a couple of random stops and then moored up at a deserted island, where the crew cooked up our extremely tasty fish picnic. We had live and taped music and free drinks on board for the whole trip.

Add to this, a couple of stops off at very pretty ports to explore, or grab a cocktail. What a day, it was brilliant! Take a wrap and a towel, and some clothes to visit the port areas, the skipper tells you when clothes are required.

We can’t praise Valalta, or Croatia highly enough, we loved what we saw.

This is a very large holiday complex catering for naturist. Campsite, caravans and motor homes. There is accommodation with breakfast as well evening meals, half board.

Also many spaces for motor homes, caravans and tents. The majority of people are from Germany in motor homes.

There are a number of bars and restaurants on the complex site. Naturism is expected throughout the day.

The sea is clear and rocky so bring beach “rock shoes “. There are some gentle stony beach’s too. A large water slide and large inflatable climbing rafts

The complex has a very large coast line all paved so you get a long promenade to walk on which make it feel very relaxing.

Numerous sunbeds, although these are hard plastic the swimming pools one are more comfortable. Rules state no reservations of Sun beds. There is always one isn’t there, but most people respect this rule.

As the site is about 1 square km there are lots of things to do. There is also a walking trail and watch towers for views.

There is an outdoor swimming pool complex. With 3 large pools and bubble pools.

In the pool area there is massage and hairdressers café and bar.

The massages are professional and cash payment. Be aware there were very firm massages and not gentle pamper ones. After about half hour I was willing to sign my confession.

During the evenings there are band or singers that perform at a selected restaurant each night.

We found “Alan’s “ snack bar / grill the most suited to us with general bar and back ground music.

There is one main road through the site so there is hardly and car movements.

Generally accepted to be clothed if you are in restaurant, lunch time nude or not. To go in shop or reception you need to be “dressed”. We just used changing robes that were our towels anyway.

We stayed in an apartment which was very modern clean and spacious. The apartments were very nice. The rooms are serviced every day and there is three day towel swap. It also had air con and TV.

There is NO kettle. There is NO kettle. We had brought our own as well a own cups and tea bags, also European electric plug adapter, milk is sold in the mini supermarket. For the restaurants Indian tea is closest to normal PG tips in the hot drinks area.

The supermarket is well stocked with everything you might have forgotten and more. Wine by the litre is sold from tap did not taste bad either.

There is also a tick tack shop selling rock shoes to post cards, fridge magnets and strangely swimming costumes which you not allowed to wear.

We were impressed with our meals which were also included. The food as a package you eat in the main restaurant. Things like chicken beef pork fish and vegetables with a salad bar as well think “Harvester” at home.

There is mini golf( free). The balls are in the hole next to the cabin with a plastic cover which is hard to get off, however some days they are in the bucket. There is also another couple of crazy golf courses by tennis and table tennis courts. Golf is free and table tennis. We did not play tennis.

The whole site is well kept with lots of staff.

Do not bring a yellow T shirt as this is security staff uniform. Light sky blue for maintenance and admin.

The atmosphere is wholesome and respectful as a family naturist site.

The younger staff are pleasant and chatty the.

Alberto, Daniel, Anathasia And Diana

Thank you for being pleasant and cheerful chatty staff. Older staff more functional.

We came by plane and pre booked transfer although we booked private transfers another couple who had also booked private transfer joined us, this was cheeky of the taxi company.

There is a bus that runs from the camp to the nearest town Rovinj which a beautiful place to visit. As most people drive in from Europe there little reason for the site to have transportation organised to air ports

Booking the site we found awkward and the web site not easy to use to book. Uncomfortably we gave credit card
