Great site - the (almost) perfect CL. Lots to like about this site and very little to dislike. Great for cyclists or kayakers.

The site is very well kept and all the pitches are hardstanding and each pitch has its own tap. You may need blocks and ramps on some pitches but its not a major problem.

If you can book a canal side pitch as you will get views over to Longcroft.

Site is very peaceful although there is a smidgen of noise from the road the other side of the canal but its not particularly noticeable.

Bonnybridge shops are about a 20 min walk along the tarmaced towpath. Kelpies and Falkirk wheel can both be accessed from the towpath if you have bicycles (no need to go on a road) or fancy a walk.

Rough castle is definitely worth a visit. You can cycle or walk from the Falkirk wheel to Rough castle via a new (but stoney) footpath (the path is signposted or just follow John Muir way signs).

Can't say what tv reception was like as I didn't try it.

There is a very good Chinese take-away in Longcroft which I wished I had visited but didn't get a chance (owner will give you the details).

Be careful with the postcode and sat navs. Google directions were fine but my in-car sat nav took me to the wrong side of the canal so double check before you get near.

I would definitely look at the approach road on google street view (because the road is little used its easy to think you have gone the wrong way). On the approach road. There is a nasty bend at the bridge but there was a large two wheeled caravan on site so it must be possible to get over even with large caravans if you are careful.

The site has large double gates which you open when you get there which does give it a feeling of privacy and security.

If I had to suggest an improvement it would be to improve the road just at the gates as it is a bit rutted with grass down the middle (which made me start to think that perhaps I needed to go round via the farmhouse).

Its a nice site which is only a mile or so from the motorway so it is a great stopover point for those heading North or South.

I hope to stay again in the future.

Lovely neat CL with hardstandings, water tap on every pitch. No toilet or shower but as we are self sufficient that didn't matter.

Newish CL (not in CAMC book). Recent problem with Sat Nav directions, wanting to send us down towpath of canal so using Google maps we got close but couldn't find it but a phone call to Helen sorted it as she talked us along.

Half mile narrow lane with narrow bridge and the turn into site may be difficult for large caravans.

We used site to visit Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel rather than stay in carparks.
