This was a bit of a last chance saloon for us - we headed to the coast to escape the heat in the Loire, and arriving on the coast late afternoon on a Saturday in July there weren't many options !
The campsite is set in the grounds of a small hotel - no sign of a golf course - and as well as a couple of fields of statics and some seasonals which look to be on the permanent side, there are touring pitches in both sun and shade.
EHU points take a bit of detective work and are in short supply in the central more level areas, but there is also hardstanding at the end of the hotel lawns where motorhomes can park.
There's a basic play area including a pentanque piste opposite this.
It's a quiet location and about a 10 min walk or 2min drive to the cliffs where you can take the free funicular (check the closing time out of high season or its a steep walk back up steps) - rather spectacular in itself - down to the busy port which has lots of bars and restaurants including some spectacular seafood options and a couple of shops.
The promenade is linked by bridges to the neighbouring town of Mer les Bains which also has a nice beach. We had a couple of peaceful, enjoyable nights at the site and a fun day and evening in Le Treport -there was a Fete de la Mer taking place, and there seems to be a lot going on in the summer.
The loos and showers at the site are quirky at best but functional and there is a large washing up area.
There's a drive over grey waste drain of sorts and a rather primitive (but clean) CDP.
Not cheap at €27pn with EHU but a good location away from the other sites and aires which all looked a bit manic.
