 This site was ideally placed for breaking our journey to the Dordogne, being about 14 miles north of Limoges, with good access and just a few minutes from J25 of the A20.
It is a small, wooded site with reasonably level pitches off the initially flat but then sloping and winding site road. The pitches are of various shapes and sizes, with varying amounts of shade, divided by bamboo hedges or other vegetation, most with 10amp hook-up and interspersed by water points.
At the flatter, bottom part of the site is the Reception and a pleasant looking bar/ restaurant, an attractive pool area and a small children's play area.
The excellent toilet and shower block (including a dog shower) and dish-washing facilities are also in this lower part of the site, where there are also a handful (5 or 6?) of mobile-homes for rent, separate from the touring pitches. Free wi-fi was available.
We received a friendly welcome from the Dutch owner, who spoke excellent English, and were invited to have a walk round and choose our own pitch.
The site was virtually empty when we arrived mid-afternoon but several more overnighters arrived in the afternoon and evening. The owner told us that he and his family took on the site in 2019 after it had been abandoned in the '70s from its previous existence as a zoo, so it is still a bit of a "work in progress".
We really liked this site (even though we would not normally choose a wooded site) but it is quite isolated and your own transport would be needed to go anywhere (even to the nearest village), so we felt it is more suitable for an overnight or short stay rather than a longer holiday.
However, we would most definitely use this site again.
