 Smallish site very near the town centre of Saint Gilles. Friendly welcome and chose our own pitch, as it was out of season. Pitches are sheltered by hedges and shaded by trees. Pitches are pretty level and are grass, but a reasonable size.
Sanitary facilities are modern and kept very clean. The site has a small swimming pool and a bar (open in high season) Prices very reasonable.
It was quiet at night apart from the birds and some noise from local houses. On the site it doesn't feel like you are in the town.
A few minutes walk and you are in the town, with is not very touristy but has shops, bars, cafes and restaurants and a smart area by the canal. We had a superb meal in Atelier Des Halles restaurant. There is a big supermarket about 10-15 minutes walk from the campsite as well.
Saint-Gilles is a good base to explore the Camargue, lots of marked and quiet cycle routes and no hills!
Plenty of mosquitoes, but these are everywhere in the Camargue!
