 Please note this site has now closed. There is a 24hr petrol station and Fordel Springs Restaurant should you be passing this way.

This site has been closed to touring caravans, motorhomes and camping since 2007.
The 24 hour service station is still open if required.
This site is advertised on a number of other websites as well but is closed so please don’t try to find the site as you will be disappointed. Try another site in the area.

June 2004
I used this as a base for the Pentland Hills and a day in Edinburgh. Great spot!
Facilities were clean with nice place to eat on site, staff were friendly and efficient, toilets etc were clean but could have more for size of site.
Bus route in to Edinburgh approx. 3/4 walk down hill - regular buses in to city centre - great for a day sight seeing without the car!
Dalkeith which is close by has a number of good pubs for food, also Dalkeith Country Park with a huge play area for children, and plenty of woodland walks.
Also close by is Roslyn Chapel, for those seeking the local history - a visit is a must - incredibly interesting.
After all that, a good night's sleep on level pitch, the busy road adjacent, is shielded from the site by a thick hedge which also muffles any sound.
If you're in the area - a good place to stop - and I would recomend it
