We stayed at Purlbrook Farm for part of the Jubilee weekend - started off in glorious sunshine and ended up wet!

The site is on a bank above the Hereford road but there’s little noise and stunning views across the valley.

Pitches are well spaced hard standing, you’ll need levelling blocks on all of them. All have ehu ( I believe metered now) and there’s a central tap, which is a bit steady.

There’s a toilet which is clean but may have a few spiders !

The friendly owner popped up to take the money and said we were welcome to walk in the field behind and use its fire pit. From this field you can access a footpath through the wood which links up to a longer walk (map on the side of the loo).

The site is handy for Hereford which has numerous attractions; there’s a garden centre with cafe just down the road and pubs nearby - the road is not really suitable for walking as the verge disappears at times and the traffic is fast.

The track from the road is a little rough but fine if you take it steady. A proper no frills delightful, tranquil CL.
