The campsite was as described, basic but as we expected. We had the field to ourselves so we were able to pitch anywhere. Our 5 year old loved playing in the whole field.
The field was uneven due to tractor treads, but we were OK with an airbed and campbed for sleeping but had to be careful running around with our son. The portaloo was clean and functioning. We were impressed that the owners had thought to leave soap and toilet roll.
The location was perfect to walk down to the beach. There were three cafes, one of which was also a bar/restaurant, within a few minutes walk, and a pub a bit further. Plenty of pubs within driving distance.
We met the owners once, who were lovely, but we were generally left alone which was nice. Although we had the owner's number if we had any problems, which we didn't.
The owner was great at responding to questions we had in advance of booking and arriving. Instructions for finding and accessing the site were really helpful.
The only negative was that there was no drinking water.
I would book again if we wanted to stay close to the beach again.

Cliff was easy to correspond with over the phone and friendly
Actually site was great and a minutes walk from the beach was was nice to watch the sunset not far from my pitch
I was a solo traveller so only have a bag and tent. Pitched up early and went the cafe 30 seconds away called Nest.
Site was well kept and grass had been recently cut. Water (not for drinking) and bins provided as well as a portaloo. Will definitely be returning again

Great spot of land in a good location with entertaining services nearby and close to the beach.
Land owners were available via phone when necessary.
Only downside was the land was rather rugged and not easy to walk on, especially for young children.
However this was moreso to do with the weather and time of year.
Great value for money and not too difficult to get to.
Would recommend and use again

Lovely little site.
I used this as a base only & it was exactly what I wanted.
Toilet extremely clean.
Hard Standing area.
Site owners very accommodating.
Highly recommended for a basic base to visit the Wirral if you want all singing and dancing Home from home it’s not for you.
1 local pub 3 local cafes. A local caravan social club. Great little beach, fantastic walks.
I’m booking again for September

Great clean and level site with well maintained toilet.
Beautiful views and close to places to visit.

Thurstaston field is in a beautiful location, close to the Wirral way and the beach.
It is also within close proximity to Wirral country park.
There are two cafes close by and plenty of space on the field.
We would definitely stay again.
