It’s a well placed site for Southwold - with their own private footpath to the pier. Like Southwold it’s expensive - the most expensive site we have ever stayed (in 15 years of motorhoming). Was it worth it? Personally I don’t think so.
The pitches are all grass - and that’s the problem. The whole site is grass and there are swathes of uncut grass. Where the grass is cut on the pitches it is not collected with the result that on wet days the cuttings get everywhere. They clog the showers, clog your feet and mess the motor home. Not good.
For the size of the site the facilities are inadequate. On busy days queues will be long.
The grey water drains are nowhere to be found and the Elsan point was in an overgrown pipe which took ages to find. There was no facility to rinse you cassette either and just one fresh water tap.
The site itself was just unkempt and we never saw the staff after the first welcome.
Southwold is a great town and the site has a captive market. Hence the high price.

Liked the flat, grassy pitches and the short walk into Southwold. Also liked the plentiful warm water in the showers and the washing up places.
The site was quite peaceful after 10pm, even though there were a couple of big groups of young people on site.
Didn't like that it was such poor value for money. The site seemed over-pitched. There were more than the 32 tents suggested. It's not a problem with pitch space - more that the facilities don't serve that number of people.
The washrooms weren't cleaned every day and they needed to be. Even when they were cleaned, it wasn't very thorough.
I don't think we'd be complaining had the site been a regular price, though. It was VERY expensive for what we got - at that price I was expecting better. We paid almost £70 a night!
