My second visit, almost a year to the date. This time with my friend whose wedding was the reason for our stay last year. Sadly, her husband died recently so this was a trip to lift her spirits and also I needed a change of scenery too.

My OH was working. He missed out on a lovely 4 night mini break with sunny weather.

It remains a peaceful spot with well looked after pitches and facilities.

Not the cheapest site but each pitch has water amd EHU.

It's not huge but feels spacious, and rge fields around and trees are a delight.

There is road noise at times from the M2 which is surprising but isn't always obvious, depending on wind.

I would stay again for sure.

Owners aren't on site but not far away and communicate with text/ phone.

Date of Visit: August 2023 Unit:  Tent
Nights stayed: 2 Travelling as:  Mature couple

We stayed here for two nights - although had initially booked three but had to return home earlier than planned due to my husband's work.

We were going to a friend's wedding in Whitstable and thought a camping trip would give us a B&B option as well as enabling us to visit some family members still living in my home county. Woodhill ticked my boxes.

Close to the wedding venue (a low key affair), a quiet, small C&C certificated site with toilets, showers, EHU and washing up. Plus a pub in walking distance!

It did not disappoint and even my, now camping reluctant, OH liked it.

The pitches are mainly around the edge with their own EHU and water points, with some delimited with hedges. Chemical waste dispoal is available, plus recycling bins.

The field was pretty level and in a gentle valley woth farmland all around, and a lovely backdrop of trees. We were mesmerised with the swallows swooping around - day bats we've called them!

The facilities were very clean and well appointed, with separate male and female toilets, and two separate showers with lots of hot water. The washing up sink is under cover - much needed in our climate - and there's a freezer for campers' use.

The pub is a 10 minute walk. Partly up a hill. But worth the effort 👌. The nearest shop is probably a ten minute drive. The owner communictaed promptly and welcomed us warmly. Thank you.

The site does have some lights at night. One behind our tent which we hadn't spotted on arrival. It cut down on our battery usage and was good for nighttime trips to the loo (otherwise it's quite dark which was great to view the Perseids and stars) but, we wondered if it might be an idea to move it to the end of the pitch???

Not the cheapest C&C certificated site but it is well appointed without being clinical and we'd certainly stay again. If we can get in :-). One of those over-used words: a gem.
