Near the Haut Languedoc Regional Park and the Montagne Noire, well situated for visits to some of the most beautiful places of interest in the region (Carcassonne, Toulouse, Albi).

The campsite is situated in the heart of a well maintained park (Golf course, running and cycling paths, exercise equipment etc)100 acre park, on the banks of the river Agout, 2. 5 Km from the town of castres. Free bus, or taxi-boat (4 euros), in summer to get to the town centre.

There are 100 pitches for tents, caravans or motorhomes, mostly bordered by hedges for peace and privacy, as well as bungalows and mobilhomes for rent.

Both shaded (trees) or open pitches.

The campsite is divided into two main sections; an upper level (Reception/Restaurant/Ablutions/Cabins and Pitches) and a lower level, comprising two rows of well shaded pitches (one alongside the river, though separated by a fence from it). The lower section is quieter and more peaceful, though mostly very shaded by the large trees. Access to the river is off-site.

The two Ablutions ‘blocks’ are modern and well maintained, bring your own paper.

Washer, tumble-dryer available.

The Bar/Restaurant attached to the rear of the Reception building is very good and well above the norm for a municipal site … good range of dishes … mid priced … good service.

Coffee at breakfast can be obtained at the Golf Clubhouse (100 metres) … where you can play if you want.

Off the ‘beaten tourist track’ there was plenty of availability when we arrived: ‘Choose your own pitch’ …

Castres is worth half a day … the main point of interest being the bank of houses overhanging the river in the centre of town … the boat transfer from the campsite (4 euros each way), makes a good approach … you can boat one way and free bus back (or vice versa). The large central square sees a big market and some of the surrounding roads and alleys worth a wander.

WiFi is free throughout the upper area of the campsite, but reception in the lower part is poor/unattainable.
