 This is a small (3 pitch) family-run site in village of Dell in the North East of the Isle of Lewis. The site is about quarter of a mile from the main road and easy to access down a quiet single-track tarmac road. Pitches are on a hardstanding and are level. There are uninterrupted panoramic views of the Atlantic and the North of Isle of Lewis.
Facilities, as with many small sites, are limited; there is fresh water with a coiled hose which reaches the pitches and 16A EHU is provided FOC. Waste disposal can be carried out at the local sports centre for a small fee.
The people running the site are friendly and helpful. Donna provided helpful comms in the run up to my visit, and her father Donald was on site literally within a couple of minutes to greet me. He ensured that I was happily set up and gave lots of valuable info on what was available in the area.
Within a couple of minutes drive (or walk if you feel fit) is the Cross Inn (hotel/restaurant/bar) and the Cross Stores where you can pick up Ness Black Pudding, a local delicacy. There is a local gravel beach a short walk away, or the excellent Eoropie beach which is a short drive with plenty of parking.
This is a fantastic site if you want to get away to somewhere peaceful and quiet, and represents excellent value for money.
