Inland site with plenty of easy (and well signposted) cycle routes nearby.

Pitches are based around 2 large paddocks with a river running along the bottom of them. There are also some touring pitches nearer to reception and numerous chalets. Strongly suggest trying to get a pitch by the river for the views and the shade; they are a little more expensive but well worth the extra.

There is a large bar / restaurant on site but when we visited (June 2023) it was only serving takeaway food. It seemed to be under-used but has a lot of potential so I hope that it will open up more later in the season. There is very little within walking distance of the site, although there are several bars and restaurants in Onnen – about 15-20 mins cycle ride away.

You can also hire a boat for a trip on the river from there. Nearest supermarket is also in Onnen but you would need to drive or cycle there, although I guess you could catch a bus from the main road (about 15 mins walk from the site). There is plenty of parking in Onnen.

Facilities are clean and adequate. Hot water is rationed via a key card which is pre- loaded when you arrive. We found the allowance to be fairly frugal but you can buy additional cards for other family members and add more credit if required. There is a basic shop and you can order bread / croissants for the morning. Reception staff are friendly and helpful and can provide cycling maps of the area. Nearest town is Zwolle which is worth a visit for a lazy lunch.
