We stayed here because it was beside a lake and we wanted to use our SUP boards. The lake turned out to be much better than I expected. It was a lovely green blue colour, with a forest around it and a chateau at the other side.

The campsite was right on the lake. The campsite was basic really, a nice reception with a small shop and sanitary block. There was a bar and resturant here, which was beside the lake beach. This were open to the public.

There were a lot of statics for hire along the main avenue, but plenty of camping pitches at the back of the site. It was like a separate area as there was a gate to the lake here, so we never really had to go up to the reception area. This section of the campsite had its own sanitary block. It was unisex, cleaned regularly, no toilet paper.

Our pitch was less than a minutes's walk from the lake, so it was really brilliant.

There was no entertainment here, although on one evening, a band came, complete with grand piano, and played a concert from the middle of the lake, you had to pay in from the public end of the beach, but we could watch it from the beach at the campsite. It was really lovely, and very unexpected.

There was a walkway through the forest around the lake, this came to an end at the chateau, but you could walk through vineyards to circumnavigate the lake.

We explored some of the gorgeous towns and villages of the surrounding Luberon, many of them had featured in films- Cucuron and Lourmarin - had featured in A Good year, a film based on Peter Mayle's book. Ansouis, Mirabel and Vaugines - where the Gérard Depardeau films Jean de Florette and Manon De Source were filmed. It's hardly surprising that they used these villages as film sets as they are gorgeous places. Cucuron has a rather unusual large fountain/etang in the centre, on market day, the stalls set up around the etang.

The campsite was never full when were here, there always seemed to be free pitches.

We enjoyed staying here, being so close to the lake was lovely and the close proximity to so many lovely villages and towns was really great.
