 I was looking for somewhere I hadn't been to go solo with the motorbike. It had to be interesting and have a pub nearby. I ended up here, a campsite with a traditional Irish pub or is it a traditional Irish pub with a campsite.
Lorrha is a very historical place and a beautiful little village. The site is a no frills site with one shower, toilets, a campers kitchen and a pub. It is ideally suited for mountains and lakes and is on the border with Galway.
The pub does food for campers. I had the steak and it was such a large portion, I couldn't finish it. Very tasty. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and good craic can be had with the regulars.
The site has fire pits and you can decide to pitch near them or further away. I chose well away as I don't like sparks near my tent. I believe they also rent out a canvas bell tent as well. They said they get a lot of through trade from the ferry.
I enjoyed it but I don't like all bells and whistles. At 10 euros it was excellent value for Ireland. I will be going back with my wife.
