Loved the setting, the nature reserve was well worth the extra ticket price and the pitch was a good size.
The children's outdoor play area inside the reserve was absolutely amazing and the indoor was small but very good. Our 10 year old loved it but would have liked to access them easier from the camping and not only through the reserve during set hours.
We would have loved the no cars rule if people had not ignored it and staff had enforced it.
There were limited fire pits and wood available so, although on booking it said we didn't have to do it then, when we got there and decided we wanted one there was nothing available so book with main booking.
We went into Fakenham by bus from just outside the site, which was very easy to use, but found there wasn't a lot to do there. If we had known the reserve was as good as it was we would have gone in there on both the Saturday and Sunday we stayed. There was a Morrisons and Aldi within an easy drive of the site too.
Really hated the toilets though. I am very happy to rough it, have very much enjoyed a site with eco loos (bucket and sawdust) but these were awful. The smell in 2 of the 4 was absolutely unbearable and the others were not great. By Sunday the best of the four was flashing to say waste tank full. Not sure anyone but my son, who got quite worried what may happen, noticed this and it continued to be used.
We certainly didn't use their sinks for teeth brushing! At least 1 shower was cold, we did not try 2 of them though. Another was useable with hot water so we stuck to this one.
There was no hot water at the pot wash sink either. I was very glad to have our own washing up bowl and camping stove with kettle to have warm water.
I would visit the reserve again but won't return for camping.
