It’s all about location!

Warm welcome at this compact campsite which is a less than10 min flat walk from the beautiful old town of Berat (the town with a thousand windows), 15 min vertically challenging walk from the castle, 1 min one way from a well stocked supermarket and 1 min the other way from bread, fruit and veg.

Access is ok to this gravel campsite which looks like a car park on which there’s probably room for around 8/10 units. Ehu on each pitch and all facilities close at hand.

There are 2 unisex rooms with a shower/toilet/basin in each and while they’re basic they are kept clean. The only hot (and it is hot) water on site is through the shower. There’s also a kitchen and shaded area with seating.

The owner offered campers a traditional Albanian meal in an ample evening meal for12eu which we enjoyed. Drinks were extra but their home made red wine is an acquired taste.

We asked about a taxi to the castle and the owners son offered to take us for 5eu – well worth the visit.

Wifi can be intermittent though when it is fully connected it flies.

The owner Elizabeth is an avid knitter and with quality wool expensive and not always available so any spare would be gratefully received.
