 A very nice site, overlooking a large valley of a small river. Has a couple of hardstandings of reinforced mesh, but the grass is fine to pitch on, regularly mown and picked up.
Easy enough to find, but if coming from the south, don't take the first road to Cold Aston. Take the main road to Cheltenham and the first turn left. Right in the village, past the pub on the left, right along a narrow track just before the school. This is fine with care, it's quite a long track, past the owner's house, recycling area (which is good), bend round to the left. Plenty of room to spread out.
Miranda the owner is lovely, you will probably only see her once. When you arrive you need to put your payment in an envelope and post it in a box outside the house, £22 per night with 10 units of electricity, which is plenty at this time of year.
It's only about 2 miles to Bourton on the Water, turn right off the main road at the traffic lights, there is a huge Co op down this road, 90 minutes free parking. It's a famous Cotswold hot spot and gets crowded.
Plenty of walks around and lovely places to see. The best thing for us was the barn owls which fly over the site in the evening. Highly recommended.
