This is a municipal site, which accepts the ACSI card, 15 Euros per night for pitch + 2 people, including EHU. Reception was very welcoming, the chap spoke excellent English, even though I wanted to practise my French, he preferred to speak English.
The site is probably the most secure we've been on, there is a gate which is locked at all times, with a separate small gate for walking/cycling through, which is also locked. You are given a card to operate both.
The site itself is fairly small, but pitches are of a good size. You are free to select your own pitch. A lot of trees can make it a bit dark on overcast days, but in summer I would imagine it would be very welcome to have shade from them.
Toiletblock is fairly basic, showers were always nice and hot! Male and female are separate, washing-up and laundry sinks are around the back, where there are also 3 more showers/WC rooms. They were all cleaned every morning. There were a few static tents set up, and there are also a few chalets.
There was also a small building which was closed, and which I assume houses a small bar in peak season. The river Creuse borders the site, although there is a tall fence all around the site, so you have to go outside the site to actually get to the river.
There is a small The local town of Descartes is about 1km or so away, with the usual shops, bars etc; a little further out of town is a big Super you with petrol station.
Adjacent to the site is a lovely big park, with lovely trees, shrubs, plants etc, which also goes down to the river. On the other side of the site is a swimming pool, which wasn't open at the time of our visit, I believe it's open during the summer months only. Outside of the site there is a cyclepath on what I assume is a disused railway and you can cycle a long way in either direction.
Further afield you could visit Chinon and Loches.
We enjoyed our stay on this site, access is very good as well.
